WPT Japan has made it back to back 1000+ fields for World Poker Tour Live Events in Asia Pacific, producing a record shattering 1,291 entries. 281 players made it through to Day 2 and yesterday at Sammy Inc. Tokyo, the field was whittled down to the last 43.

The 2021 WPT DeepStacks Gold Coast is now the largest WPT main event field in Asia-Pacific history, bettering the 898 players that took their seats at WPT National China in 2014. It was a marathon at the inaugural WPTDeepStacks Hanoi as 90 players thundered in to host venue Crown Poker Club for Day 2 of the Main Event. The sound of chips shuffling was heard all through the day as another set of games played out at the inaugural WPTDeepStacks Hanoi. Bringing everyone in was the featured VNđ 4 billion (~US$ 173,500) guaranteed Main Event with Day 1B up on deck. After nine rounds of late registration, 86 entered (67 uniques, 19 re-entries), and by bagging time, only 15 remained.

Day 6 at the inaugural WPTDeepStacks Hanoi was the start of the series headliner Main Event with VNđ 4 billion (~US$ 173,500) guaranteed in tow. 19 players found their way to the felt with 3 re-entering for a total of 22 entries. After 15 rounds of scheduled play, only five players remained. They will have a three day break before returning for Day 2.
