Good news for players in India! After a highly successful inaugural run last year, the World Poker Tour returns for a second edition of WPT Online India. Taking place once again at online platform Adda52.com, the series promises to be very lucrative with an ambitious IN₹ 25 Crores (~US$ 3,350,735) in guaranteed prizes, nearly twice that of the previous edition’s guarantee. The festival spans the entire month of August with games starting the 1st until the 30th.

To ensure every type of bankroll is met, a total of 233 tournaments are scheduled plus Daily Micro events with buy ins from an economical IN₹ 25 (~US$ .34) up to a costlier IN₹ 107,000 (~US$ 1,435). Headlining the series is the WPT Online India Main Event featuring IN₹ 3 Crores (~US$ 402,100) guaranteed. This too is up from the previous edition. Apart from cashing in at the events, a slew of prizes will be awarded across multiple leaderboards. As for the coveted WPT hardware, 44 Event Trophies are on the line. Last year, the inaugural WPT Online India Main Event pulled in a massive 2,573 crowd for a guarantee smashing IN₹ 2.57 Crores (~US$ 344,460) prize pool. Newcomer Kumar “kumar69” Sahaj shipped it to pocket a hefty IN₹ 50 lakhs (~US$ 67,000). For the upcoming second edition, the Main Event aims to be bigger than ever with the guarantee boosted to an enormous IN₹ 3 Crores (~US$ 402,100).

The event takes place from August 22 to 29 with 10 qualifying flights leading up to Day 2. Buy in is IN₹ 16,500 (~US$ 221). For the eventual champion, a motherlode of prizes awaits. In addition to a large sum of cash, the champion will take home the WPT Main Event Championship Trophy, WPT Passport worth US$ 5,000, Adda52.com Wallet Credits worth IN₹ 1.5 Lakhs (~US$ 2,010), and a Hublot watch. A trophy will also be awarded to the 2nd placer.
Three phased events are spread throughout the schedule. The WPT India Unreal event kicks off on opening day and runs through the month, from August 1 to August 29th, with 30 qualifying flights leading up to Day 2. This is the cheapest trophy event scheduled with buy in at just IN₹ 499 (~US$ 6.70) and a generous guarantee of IN₹ 1 Crore (~US$ 134,000).
Underway in the second week of August is the WPT India Mini Main Event with buy in at IN₹ 999 (~US$ 13.40) and a guarantee of IN₹ 50 Lakhs (~US$ 67,000). This trophy bearing event runs from August 8 to August 15th with 10 qualifying flights leading up to Day 2.
The WPT Quad 9 is another phased trophy event extending a IN₹ 1 Crore (~US$ 134,000) guarantee with buy in as its name states of IN₹ 9999 (~US$ 134). It runs from August 16th to August 22nd with 8 qualifying flights leading up to Day 2.
The series also covers avid heavy hitters with three trophy events lined up. On opening week is the WPT India Mini High Roller IN₹ 60 Lakhs guaranteed (~US$ 80,417) taking place on August 5th. Buy in is IN₹ 27,500 (~US$ 370). One week later is the most expensive tournament scheduled, the WPT India Super High Roller IN₹ 1 Crore guaranteed (~US$ 134,000) taking place on August 12th. Buy in is IN₹ 107,000 (~US$ 1,435). This is followed by a second WPT India High Roller event which takes place on August 20th with a guarantee of IN₹ 80 Lakhs (~US$ 107,223) and a buy in of IN₹ 55,000 (~US$ 737).
Covering the rest of the tournament schedule is a wide range of No Limit Hold’em formats such as the Super Stack, 6 Max, 8 Max, Deepstack, Bounty, and Freezeout. For Omaha enthusiasts, you haven’t been forgotten. Two are scheduled, the WPT India PLO Championship and the WPT Mini PLO. Buy ins for these trophy events range from IN₹ 2,500 (~US$ 34) to IN₹ 11,000 (~US$ 147).
Running alongside the main tournament schedule is the Micro Events schedule with 21 daily games offered and daily guarantees amounting to IN₹ 281,000 (~US$ 3,765). Buy ins are very light on the pocket starting at IN₹ 25 (~US$ .34) and go only as high as IN₹ 330 (~US$ 4.45).
Alike the previous edition, players also earn more bang for their buck via the leaderboards. For this series, there’s a leaderboard for just about every category with a combined IN₹ 1 Crore (~US$ 134,000) to be awarded.
The Mega Series Leaderboard will pay out a very generous IN₹ 33 Lakhs (~US$ 44,230) and the winner will receive an iPad Pro + Magic Keyboard. Other leaderboards are the Mini Series Leaderboard IN₹ 12.5 Lakhs (~US$ 16,750), the Micro Leaderboard IN₹ 7.5 Lakhs (~US$ 10,000), Event-Wise Leaderboard IN₹ 8 Lakhs (~US$ 10,720), Daily Micro IN₹ 25K (~US$ 335), Daily Mini IN₹ 65K (~US$ 870), Freeroll Leaderboard IN₹ 2 Lakhs ~(US$ 2,680), and Satellite Leaderboard IN₹ 10 Lakhs (~US$ 13,400). Leaderboard winners will also be awarded trophies. Last year, 2019 WPT India Main Event champion Ashish Munot won the Mega Series leaderboard and Arjun Arora claimed the Mini Series Leaderboard.
