By WPT.asia
WPT Japan has made it back to back 1000+ fields for World Poker Tour Live Events in Asia Pacific, producing a record shattering 1,291 entries.
Such a milestone has translated into a very busy Holiday Long Weekend for WPT Partner Japan Poker Union!
Firstly on Saturday, well over 50 tables were assembled at Sammy Inc. headquarters to cater for the 679 player last Day 1.
And yesterday was also a full house with both the Main Event and 172 player WPT Under 23 Students Poker Championship on the schedule.
The 281 strong Main Event Day 2 field was whittled down to 43 players. Alas, only 31 of these survivors will share in the USD91,500 WPT Passport prizepool.
The chip leader coming into today's finale is Tsuchida Ryuichi with 1,710,000 and here is the Day 3 Draw:
Twenty two U23 Survivors also return today lead by "Show" with 376,000 in chips.
A great atmosphere is guaranteed at Sammy as we play down to a WPT Japan Champion as there is a third trophy on offer today for a freeroll awarding USD$3,190 in WPT Passports to the Top 5!
